May's Friday after school mountain bike rides for 2nd through 5th grade girls
With warm weather finally here, we are excited to offer another month of after school Friday bike rides. Our rides this month will be designed to be engaging our more experienced riders without overwhelming our less experienced riders. This month we will be focusing on building up our bicycle handling skills, working toward being able to tackle sustained uphills and riding cooperatively in a group.
Before our rides, please go over your rider’s bike and address any mechanical issues that may cause problems on the trail. Also, please help your student pack all of their cycling gear including their helmet, bike gloves, lots of food, and plenty of water. Light weight knee pads, elbow pads and protective eyewear are, also, recommended. For riders who are allergic to poison oak, a single use packet (or reusable small container) of Tecnu is another great thing to pack.
We ask any participant who has recently tested positive for Covid-19, having recently taken fever reducing medication or reporting symptoms that could come from Covid-19, to please follow our state Covid guidelines in planning their return to our group.
Thanks!
Ride Dates: May 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th
Ride Times: 3:05 to 5:45
