Rides and Camps

Camps

We have a history of offering camps that are designed for middle school and high school kids with a passion for mountain biking. Our rides tend to be bigger and more challenging than those offered by other local camps. They are a great match for kids with a few years of riding experience looking for challenge and adventure.

For 2025, Emile will be leading Fairfax Cycling Camp. Fairfax Cycling Camp is wonderful summer day camp located in Fairfax, Ca. that has introduced thousands of local kids to mountain biking. For more information on summer day camps offered through Fairfax Cycling Camp, please visit the FXCC website at https://fairfaxcyclingcamp.com .

Emile will also be leading one mountain biking and camping trip for high school and middle school students. We will pick your riders up from the Bay Area and take them for a three day, two night trip to one of our favorite riding destinations.

After making it to the campground we coach our riders through basic self care like setting up camp or cleaning their dishes as well as leading them along three epic days of mountain biking. Our trips facilitate growth, independence and confidence within our riders. We have been thrilled to hear stories of cross country road trips and hut to hut mountain bike packing trips that kids from our trips have gone on to do. We’re proud to have helped them build the the confidence and skills that they need to safely navigate such epic adventures and we’re excited to help build those skills in your rider too.

Please see our sign up page for details on our camping trip and the Fairfax Cycling Camp website for awesome day camp options.

After school in Mill Valley for Middle Schoolers

Explore the southern slopes of Mountain Tamalpais while we learn trail etiquette, training fundamentals, race strategy and safe bike handling. We meet for our rides on Tuesdays behind Mill Valley Middle School at 3:30 and then return from our ride by 5:30 or 5:00 during winter hours. We frequently break into multiple groups, giving the kids a chance to choose between less and more difficult routes.

To register your child for a ride, visit our sign up page and email Emile at emilemulholland@gmail.com for a copy of our waiver.

Winter 2023 rides are currently on hold but will resume in February of 2024.

After School in "The Valley"

The San Geronimo Valley offers beautiful scenery, challenging low speed downhills and some of the steepest, hardest climbs in Marin. These are the trails where Emile learned to mountain bike. If you are looking for challenge and adventure, our valley trails have a lot to offer.

For more information on current rides, please email Emile at emilemulholland@gmail.com.

After School Rides for 2nd Through 5th Grade Girls

This group meets after school at Wade Thomas where we pick the kids up and shuttle them to one of our local trailheads. These rides are designed to be engaging for girls with some mountain biking experience but not overwhelming for our newer riders.

Because many girls in this age range will feel more comfortable trying mountain biking in an only girls group, this group is not co-ed. If you are interested in joining us and your daughter goes to another local school, please contact Emile at emilemulholland@gmail.com. we’d love for your rider to be able to join us.

Please see our sign up page for more details.

Friday Afternoon Rides for Highschool and Advanced Middle Scool Riders

Offered in the fall, these rides are built for high school and advanced middle school riders looking for rides before the start of their NICA season and middle schoolers looking for a challenging adventure. We meet at Sunshine Bikes at 4:30pm and ride a great variety of local trails.

These rides tend to have a faster steadier pace than many of our rides. We also try our best to include fun challenging trails that keep our riders engaged and excited to be riding with us.

Tow Rides

These rides are for parents and kids who want to start mountain biking together or just want to get out on the trails with some other families. Offered in the warmer spring months, we started offering these rides in an attempt to create a really good environment for youngsters to learn to mountain bike. Since then, we’ve found that these rides can give parents a great environment to start mountain biking too. Having as many adults as we have kids on these rides gives us the ability to give our kids all the support that they need as they start to mountain bike.

This year, we’ll be leading rides designed for new riders and rides designed to be challenging and engaging for parents and kids who already have mountain biking experience under their belts.

Please see our sign up page for dates and more details.

Weekend Adventures

Want to get out for some bigger and more challenging rides or check out some new locations? Sign up for a weekend day trip. There is only so much that can be fit into an after school ride. These weekend adventures give us a chance to introduce the kids to rides in new areas both within and beyond Marin County.

Private Guided Rides

Want to hire a coach to join you or a small group for a ride? We can help you work on a specific skill, guide you through a new route or help you scout out the course for an upcoming race.

We also are happy to lead rides for birthday parties or other special events.

Individual Coaching for NICA and Middle School Racing

Want to improve as a racer but not quite sure what you need to do? I'm happy to help. I have been coaching high school racers since 2002 and am proud to have coached both champion racers and racers who have made champion efforts to improve and finish mid-pack.
