October's Friday evening rides for advanced high school and middle school riders

$140.00

Riding after dark adds a fun element of adventure to these rides and we are excited to be offering them again this year. Because riding in the dark adds an additional element of challenge and risk, they are recommended for older advanced middle school and high school riders who already have multiple years of riding experience.

All participants need to bring multiple front lights and a rear bike light on all or our rides. We ask that riders use a handlebar mounted headlight and a helmet mounted headlight. The handlebar mounted light is great for seeing while riding but if we fall the handlebar mounted light won’t always be pointed in the direction that we need to see. The helmet mounted headlight allows to see where we are landing in the event of a fall.

Before our rides, please help your riders remember to charge their lights, go over your rider’s bike with them and help address any mechanical issues that may cause problems on the trail. Also, please help your rider pack all of their cycling gear including their helmet, bike gloves, a spare tube, lots of food and plenty of water. Also, we recommend a light wind beaker, jacket or rain jacket (when appropriate) that can be carried in a pocket. Light weight knee pads, elbow pads and protective eye wear with clear lenses are also, recommended. For riders who are allergic to poison oak, a single use packet (or reusable small container) of Tecnu is another great thing to pack.

If you have a rider who is interested in trying mountain biking but may want to drop out, please reach out to me. Because of website and credit card fees, we are not able to offer full refunds.

*Special Note: Most of these rides will finish in the dark. This will add an extra element of excitement but also an extra element of risk.
