After a great summer of sun and bike rides, we can’t wait to restart our awesome after school bike rides!
We’re offering a pick up right after school at Wade Thomas and then meeting the rest of our group at 3:40 in the parking lot for Ross Valley Charter. We’re giving ourselves a couple hours to ride, with a RVC pick up at 5:45 and a San Anselmo pick up at the Saunders lot of Archie Williams high at 6:00pm.
Before our rides, please go over your rider’s bike and address any mechanical issues that may cause problems on the trail. Also, please help your student pack all of their cycling gear including their helmet, bike gloves, lots of food, and plenty of water. Light weight knee pads, elbow pads and protective eyewear are, also, recommended. For riders who are allergic to poison oak, a single use packet (or reusable small container) of Tecnu is another great thing to pack.
We ask any participant who has recently tested positive for Covid-19, having recently taken fever reducing medication or reporting symptoms that could come from Covid-19, to please follow our state and county Covid guidelines in planning their return to our group. Riders who travel together in our van face a higher risk of exposure.
All parents of participating minors need to go to the parent portion of the CDC website and familiarize themselves with the available CDC concussion information. Concussions can and do happen during mountain biking. Sometimes symptoms will take hours or days to become apparent. It is important that we are all prepared. https://www.cdc.gov/headsup/pdfs/youthsports/parents_eng.pdf
