December 22nd's West Marin Adventure Ride
December 22nd's West Marin Adventure Ride
*We’ve filled all of our seats in the van for this ride. We’re open to your rider joining us but you will need to meet us in Woodacre to drop them off and pick them up. Please reach out to Emile at emilemulholland@gmail.com if you are interested.
On this holiday vacation ride, we will be meeting at Sunshine Bikes at 9:30am. From there we will drive out to Woodacre where we will go for fun ride in the four hour range. Our goal will be to make it all of the way to the top of San Geronimo Ridge and then descend Hunters’ Camp trail on our way back down.
This will be longer than our normal after school rides so, please pack extra food and water for our bike ride and a little money for a snack stop on our way home.
Please go over your riders bike with them and address any mechanical issues that may cause problems on the trail. Also, please help your student pack all of their cycling gear including their helmet, bike gloves, a spare tube, lots of food, plenty of water and lights. We recommend a light wind beaker or rain jacket (when appropriate) that can be carried in a pocket. Light weight knee pads, elbow pads and protective eyewear are, also, recommended. For riders who are allergic to poison oak, a single use packet (or reusable small container) of Tecnu is another great thing to pack.
All participant parents need to go to the parent portion of the CDC website and familiarize themselves with the available CDC concussion information. Concussions can and do happen during mountain biking. Sometimes symptoms will take hours or days to become apparent. It is important that we are all prepared. https://www.cdc.gov/headsup/pdfs/youthsports/parents_eng.pdf
Thanks!
